In my day job I use a mix of perl and C++, along with awk, sed, and various little languages. In our C++ we use a lot of boost, especially simple things like the date_time libraries and
tuple. Tuple is a neat little thing, sort of like
std::pair except it lets you have up to 10 elements of arbitrary type instead of just the two. One of the major things that it gives you is a correct
operator<, which gives you the ability to use it as a key in
std::map. Very handy. One tricky thing, though, is generically iterating over every element in the
tuple. What then?
